Our Facility
Construction on our first municipal solid waste to biofuels plant, the Sierra BioFuels Plant, is set to begin by the end of 2011. Located in the Tahoe-Reno Industrial Center, in the City of McCarran, Storey County, Nevada, the Plant will produce up to 10.5 million gallons of ethanol per year.
We have already obtained the necessary local and state regulatory permits necessary to begin site preparation, we have begun detailed engineering of the plant design, contracted for feedstock and have entered into an offtake agreement for the full output of the Plant. We are projecting completion of the Plant in the second half of 2013, making Sierra BioFuels one of the nation’s first fully operational, commercial-scale MSW-to-biofuels production plants.
